What Does the Bible Say About Dinosaurs?

What Is Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday & Monday?
April 16, 2025Most people wonder this at some point:
👉 Is long hair a sin?
👉 Does the Bible actually say anything about it?
There’s a lot of confusion around this — especially from one passage.
So let’s clear it up properly.
What the Bible Actually Says About Long Hair
This topic mainly comes from First Epistle to the Corinthians 11.
1. Long hair is a glory for women
1 Corinthians 11:15 (KJV)
“But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her…”
👉 Meaning:
Long hair is presented as something honourable and natural for women.
2. Long hair is described differently for men
1 Corinthians 11:14 (KJV)
“If a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him”
👉 Meaning:
Paul is pointing to a visible distinction between men and women.
3. This is not about salvation or sin
Nothing in this passage says:
- you are sinning
- you are condemned
👉 It addresses order, appearance, and honour, not your salvation.
Important Context Most People Miss
1. Cultural meaning matters
At the time this was written:
- long hair on men could signal rejection of cultural norms or identity confusion
- long hair on women represented honour and femininity
👉 Paul is addressing what communicates honour vs dishonour in that culture.
2. The Bible does not give a universal hair-length rule
If long hair was always wrong for men, it would contradict other parts of the Bible.
For example:
Book of Judges 16:17 (KJV)
Samson’s strength was connected to his long hair.
👉 So long hair itself cannot be inherently sinful.
3. The principle matters more than the length
The deeper point is:
- honouring God
- maintaining distinction
- avoiding confusion or disorder
👉 Not measuring hair length.
So Is Long Hair Wrong?
👉 For women:
Long hair is described positively — as a glory
👉 For men:
Long hair is described negatively in that context — but not as a salvation issue
👉 Overall:
The Bible does not say long hair is a sin
What You Should Take From This
Don’t reduce this to:
👉 “how long should my hair be?”
Focus on what the Bible is actually teaching:
- Honour God in how you present yourself
- Understand the difference between culture and core doctrine
- Don’t turn symbolic teaching into strict rules
Final Thought
This topic confuses people because they turn a cultural and symbolic teaching into a universal law.
The Bible does not say:
👉 “You are sinning if your hair is a certain length”
It teaches:
👉 how outward appearance can reflect honour, order, and distinction
Once you understand that — the confusion disappears. our appearance—point others to God’s love and goodness.
