Pride is one of the most serious sins addressed in the Bible.
Although the world often encourages people to promote themselves, seek recognition, and rely on their own abilities, scripture repeatedly warns that pride separates us from God and damages our relationships with others.
Pride can appear in many forms, including:
- arrogance
- selfish ambition
- self-righteousness
- stubbornness
- boasting
- or believing we do not need God’s help.
Because pride often hides beneath the surface, it can be difficult to recognize in our own lives.

Proverbs 16:18 says:

By contrast, humility opens the door for God to work in our lives.

God honours those who humbly trust Him.

1. Remember that everything comes from God
Every blessing is a gift from Him.
