Bible Verses About Salvation
July 9, 2024Bible Verses About Addiction
July 9, 2024Abortion is one of the most sensitive topics people face today.
Many people approach this subject from very different experiences.
Some are:
- looking for biblical answers
- facing an unexpected pregnancy
- grieving after an abortion
- supporting someone they love
- or searching for God’s forgiveness and hope.
The Bible does not use the word “abortion.”
However, it clearly teaches that every human life is created by God, known by Him before birth, and made in His image (Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5).
At the same time, scripture also teaches that God’s grace and forgiveness are available to everyone who turns to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith (1 John 1:9; Romans 8:1; Ephesians 1:7).
👉 God values every human life and offers hope to every person who comes to Him.
⚡ What To Do Right Now
- Read what the Bible teaches about the value of life
- Pray for wisdom and God’s guidance
- Trust God with difficult decisions
- If you carry guilt, turn to Christ for forgiveness
- Show compassion and truth when talking with others
👉 God is full of both truth and mercy.
What the Bible Says About Human Life
The Bible teaches that human life is valuable because every person is created in the image of God.
Our value does not come from:
- our age
- our abilities
- our health
- our independence
- or what other people think of us.
Instead, every human being has worth because God created them.
Genesis 1:27 says:
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him.”
Because every person bears God’s image, human life should be treated with dignity and respect.
God Knows Us Before Birth
Scripture teaches that God is personally involved in the creation of every human life.
The Bible says that He:
- forms each child in the womb (Psalm 139:13–16)
- knows people before they are born (Jeremiah 1:5)
- creates every person according to His purposes (Isaiah 44:24)
- and values every human life (Genesis 9:6).
Psalm 139:13–14 says:
“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
These verses remind us that unborn children are known and valued by God.
God Calls Us to Protect Life
Throughout the Bible, God consistently demonstrates His care for human life.
He commands His people not to murder (Exodus 20:13).
God calls believers to defend those who are vulnerable (Proverbs 31:8–9).
He delights in justice, mercy, and compassion (Micah 6:8).
These biblical principles encourage Christians to value and protect human life at every stage.
There Is Forgiveness Through Jesus Christ
Some people reading this may carry deep regret over a past abortion.
The Gospel offers hope.
No sin is beyond God’s ability to forgive when someone genuinely repents and places their faith in Jesus Christ.
First John 1:9 says:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Through Christ there is:
- forgiveness (Ephesians 1:7)
- restoration (Psalm 51:10–12)
- new life (2 Corinthians 5:17)
- and freedom from condemnation (Romans 8:1).
God’s grace is greater than our past.
Respond With Truth and Compassion
Jesus always spoke the truth.
He also showed compassion to people who were hurting.
Believers are called to do the same.
When discussing abortion, Christians should:
- speak with grace (Colossians 4:6)
- love others sincerely (John 13:34–35)
- uphold biblical truth (Ephesians 4:15)
- and point people toward the hope found in Christ (Matthew 11:28–30).
Truth and compassion should always go together.
Trust God in Difficult Circumstances
Unexpected pregnancies can bring fear and uncertainty.
During difficult situations, God invites people to seek His wisdom and trust His care.
Although the future may seem overwhelming, He promises to guide those who depend on Him (James 1:5; Proverbs 3:5–6; Isaiah 41:10).
God remains faithful in every circumstance.
