Bible Verses About Women
August 17, 2024Bible Verses About Doubt
August 28, 2024Most people want to be successful.
Success is often associated with:
- wealth
- achievements
- popularity
- influence
- career advancement
- or reaching personal goals.
But the Bible presents a different perspective on success.
According to scripture,
true success is not measured primarily by:
- money
- status
- possessions
- or human approval.
Instead,
biblical success is found in:
👉 knowing God, obeying His Word, and living according to His will.
While there is nothing wrong with working hard and pursuing goals,
the Bible teaches that success should ultimately honour God.
⚡ What To Do Right Now
- Ask yourself how you define success
- Seek God’s will before pursuing your goals
- Focus on faithfulness rather than recognition
- Trust God with the results of your efforts
- Build your life on God’s Word
👉 True success begins with a right relationship with God
What the Bible Says About Success
The Bible teaches that success is not simply about accomplishing goals.
Many people achieve:
- wealth
- fame
- power
- and recognition,
yet still feel empty.
Scripture teaches that true success begins with putting God first.
Joshua 1:8 says:
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night… for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
According to this verse,
success is connected to knowing and obeying God’s Word.
Success Begins With God
Many people pursue success while leaving God out of their plans.
The Bible teaches the opposite approach.
Proverbs 3:5–6 says:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
God should be at the centre of every goal,
decision,
and pursuit.
When we seek His guidance,
He directs our steps.
Faithfulness Matters More Than Fame
The world often celebrates:
- popularity
- influence
- and public recognition.
But the Bible consistently emphasizes faithfulness.
God is more concerned with:
- obedience
- character
- integrity
- and faithfulness
than worldly success.
A person can be highly successful by worldly standards while neglecting what truly matters.
Success Without God Is Empty
Jesus warned about pursuing worldly success at the expense of spiritual health.
Mark 8:36 says:
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
This verse reminds believers that spiritual priorities should always come first.
No earthly achievement is worth sacrificing your relationship with God.
God Gives Wisdom for Success
The Bible teaches that wisdom is essential for success.
Proverbs 16:3 says:
“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
God’s wisdom helps believers:
- make wise decisions
- avoid unnecessary mistakes
- and pursue goals that align with His will.
Success built on God’s wisdom is far more valuable than success built on human understanding alone.
Success Includes Serving Others
Biblical success is not only about personal achievement.
Jesus taught His followers to serve others.
Mark 10:45 says:
“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister…”
God often measures success differently than the world does.
A successful life is one that honours God and positively impacts others.
