Bible Verses For Hard Times
January 20, 2025Bible Verses For Sleep
January 21, 2025A lot of Christians want to share their faith, but feel unsure how to do it.
You might worry about:
- saying the wrong thing
- not knowing enough
- being rejected
- sounding pushy
- or not having answers to every question someone asks
And because of that, many people stay silent even when they genuinely care about others knowing God.
The Bible speaks clearly about evangelism, but not in the way many people assume.
Evangelism is not about:
- winning arguments
- sounding impressive
- or forcing conversations
At its core, it’s about:
👉 sharing the truth about Jesus with love, honesty, and faithfulness.
⚡ The Clear Answer
👉 The Bible calls believers to share the gospel and point people toward Jesus, while trusting God with the results
Evangelism is not:
👉 changing people through pressure
Only God changes hearts.
But Christians are called to:
- speak truth
- share the gospel
- live in a way that reflects Christ
- and be willing to speak about their faith openly.
What the Bible Actually Says About Evangelism
1. Jesus commanded believers to share the gospel
One of the clearest verses about evangelism is:
Gospel of Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV)
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
This is often called:
👉 The Great Commission
Jesus did not present sharing the gospel as optional for believers.
2. Evangelism is about Jesus, not yourself
Sometimes people avoid sharing their faith because they feel:
- not smart enough
- not confident enough
- or not spiritually impressive enough
But the focus of evangelism is not:
👉 your perfection
It is:
👉 pointing people toward Christ.
Second Epistle to the Corinthians 4:5 (KJV)
“For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord…”
That matters because people are not being called to:
- promote themselves
- or appear spiritually superior
They are called to share Jesus faithfully.
3. Truth should be spoken with gentleness and respect
This is important because some people approach evangelism harshly or aggressively.
The Bible does not encourage that.
First Epistle of Peter 3:15 (KJV)
“…be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”
“Meekness” here carries the idea of:
- gentleness
- humility
- and respect
Sharing truth does not require:
- arrogance
- hostility
- or attacking people.
4. Your life should reflect the message you share
Evangelism is not only verbal.
People also notice:
- character
- behaviour
- consistency
- and how Christians treat others
Gospel of Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
That does not mean:
👉 Christians must be perfect
But it does mean the way believers live affects how people view the message they share.
5. Not everyone will respond positively
This is something people need to understand clearly.
Even Jesus Himself was rejected by many people.
So rejection does not automatically mean:
👉 you failed
The Bible teaches believers to share truth faithfully, but not force people.
Gospel of Luke 8:11–15 (KJV)
In the parable of the sower, Jesus explains that people respond differently to God’s Word.
Some receive it, some reject it, some initially respond but later fall away.
That means:
👉 results are ultimately not in your control.
Why This Matters
A lot of people are searching for:
- hope
- meaning
- truth
- peace
- forgiveness
- and purpose
Even if they do not always say it openly.
And many people only know distorted ideas about Christianity because they have:
- never truly heard the gospel clearly
- been hurt by religion
- or seen unhealthy examples of Christians.
That’s why evangelism matters.
Not because Christians are trying to:
- “win” people
- or pressure others
But because the message of Jesus genuinely changes lives.
And often, simple faithful conversations impact people more deeply than dramatic debates.
What to Come Back To
You do not need to:
- know every answer
- speak perfectly
- or sound like a preacher
to share your faith.
A lot of evangelism happens through:
- ordinary conversations
- honesty
- kindness
- consistency
- and being willing to talk about what God has done in your life.
And sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is simply:
👉 “This is how God changed me.”
People connect deeply with sincerity and truth.
It’s also important to remember:
👉 you are responsible for faithfulness, not outcomes.
You cannot force people to believe.
Your role is:
- to share truth lovingly
- and trust God with the rest.
Practical Ways to Share Your Faith Naturally
1. Start with genuine conversations, not rehearsed speeches
People often feel uncomfortable when evangelism sounds forced or scripted.
Instead of trying to “perform,” focus on:
- listening
- caring about people genuinely
- and allowing conversations to happen naturally.
2. Learn the gospel clearly yourself
A lot of Christians feel nervous sharing their faith because they are unsure how to explain the gospel simply.
At its core, the gospel is:
- humanity’s sin separates people from God
- Jesus died and rose again
- salvation comes through faith in Him
- and people are invited into relationship with God through Christ.
Keeping the message clear matters.
3. Don’t argue with people constantly
Some Christians spend more time debating than genuinely loving people.
Not every conversation needs to become:
- confrontational
- defensive
- or argumentative
Truth matters.
But wisdom and love matter too.
4. Pray for opportunities and boldness
Many believers in the Bible prayed for courage to speak openly about Jesus.
Acts of the Apostles 4:29 (KJV)
“…grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.”
Boldness does not mean being loud or aggressive.
It means:
👉 being willing to speak truth even when nervous.
5. Remember that changed lives speak loudly too
People pay attention to:
- peace
- integrity
- kindness
- humility
- and consistency
A life genuinely shaped by God often opens doors for deeper conversations naturally.

Final Thought
Evangelism is not about:
- being perfect
- winning arguments
- or pressuring people
It’s about faithfully pointing people toward Jesus with:
- truth
- love
- humility
- and courage.
And while sharing your faith can feel intimidating sometimes, you do not need to have every answer before God can use you.
Often the most impactful evangelism happens through:
- ordinary conversations
- genuine care for people
- and a life that consistently reflects Christ.
So instead of focusing on:
👉 “What if I say something wrong?”
Focus on:
👉 loving people well and being willing to speak about Jesus honestly when opportunities come.
Because God works through faithful obedience, not perfect performance.
